Moving Forward
Moving forward, how will the University Writing Program (UWP) continue to prepare college students for the current and future needs for employment and higher education?
We will meet these needs by developing a curriculum that hones durable skills in written & oral communication, editing, critical thinking, collaboration, leadership, and problem-solving. In addition, the University Writing Program will stay up to date with the most recent technology and methodologies for critical & analytical writing in a wide range of academic disciplines.
The world is indeed changing but the need for strong communicators who understand and critically analyze texts remains. Additionally, faculty are seeking to expand the current professional writing minor into a major.
Faculty are excited to lead student scholars into the next decade with strong writing/communication skills to better enhance learning engagement, and productivity in the workplace, civic activities, and beyond.
